A big dream, planned for 30 years, finally came true. Now, under the rule of the Taliban, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is a safe place, and the Afghans themselves (including the Taliban) are very happy when foreigners come to their beautiful country. The capital, Kabul, is a large and modern city with skyline views and shopping malls and restaurants. The city’s greatest attractions are: the DarulAman royal palace, now completely rebuilt, the gardens and Babur’s tomb, the Arc de Triomphe, royal palaces and a copy of the Al-Aqsa mosque, which is a symbol of Taliban solidarity with the Palestinian nation. The city of Jalalabad in the east of the country (Nangarhar province) has bazaars where you can buy the most famous Afghan hats, Pakoul, and weapons. It is in this city that the mausoleum of the king of Afghanistan, Amanullah Khan, who won independence from the British, is located. We drove the most dangerous mountain route in the world, Kabul – Jalalabad. We survived a rock avalanche and had to escape from the car !

Teraz, pod rządami Talibów, Islamski Emirat Afganistanu jest miejscem bezpiecznym, a sami Afgańczycy (w tym Talibowie) bardzo się cieszą, kiedy cudzoziemcy przyjeżdżają do ich pięknego kraju. Stolica, Kabul, to duże i nowoczesne miasto z widokiem panoramy oraz centrami handlowymi i restauracjami. Największymi atrakcjami miasta są: pałac królewski DarulAman, teraz już całkowicie odbudowany, ogrody oraz grób Babura, Łuk Triumfalny, pałace królewskie oraz kopia meczetu Al-Aksa, będąca symbolem solidarności Talibów z narodem palestyńskim. Miasto Jalalabad na wschodzie kraju (prowincja Nangarhar) to bazary, gdzie można kupić najsłynniejsze czapki afgańskie, Pakule, oraz broń. To w tym mieście znajduje się mauzoleum króla Afganistanu, Amanullaha Khana, który wywalczył niepodległość od Brytyjczyków. Jechaliśmy najniebezpieczniejszą górską trasą świata, Kabul – Jalalabad. Przeżyliśmy lawinę kamieni i musieliśmy uciekać z samochodu !
